Back From California and Arizona....

Me and Max at Disneyland

I am making this real quick...and I mean really quick....I have been gone for three weeks to California and Arizona....visiting and seeing Disneyland. Upon my return I started painting at the local gallery here in Carthage, Mo, Cherry's, and spent a week painting there. It was a great deal of fun.....old students and aspiring painters stopped by, friends, supporters of the arts and collectors, also. At times there was a whole lot more talking then painting! Normally this piece would take far less time...that's okay...I had great fun catching up with everyone!! I will be back again this week. Painting another crab.....I think it is going to be great....but only time will tell!!!
Below a few pics of paintings and moments on vacation. Until more time allows have some fantastic creative days!!

Lovely painting. You are one of those angel-touched artists who keep the canvas looking beautiful through all its phases. Very nice. Miss you. L

Wow...complicated set up! Very nice painting. I, too, enjoyed seeing the work in progress photos.

Hi Theresa,

Beautiful painting. Three years ago Steven and I were in a hotel right across from Disneyland in California, and we never visited the park. We were too eager to spend as much time as possible with relatives and at the ocean. Looking back it seems funny that we didn't go to Disneyland. I'm glad you did.

Your "baby brother" is my kind of guy.

Hi Theresa!.... From the looks of this first piece that "You" are indeed "back in the groove"... artistically!

"Breaks" are so essential to re-energizing... and "seeing" the world in other ways than from the easel!

Artists are wonderful throwbacks to our "hunter-gatherer" origins!

Bet that you have gathered lots... to share with your faithful Followers!

Good Painting!

Thank you so much, Lori, what a great compliment...I am happy you like it...one lady that was watching me while I painted remarked that it looked better than the setup....as with your wonderful comment...it made my day..:)

Hi Barbara...the best part was staying at the Grand Californian....a stunning remake in the Arts and Crafts Style. Every detail was thought out at given immense care! Disneyland was a lot of fun...I hadn't been there since it opened...about 56 years ago...Gosh I seem so old!!..:) I can understand your wanting to spend time with relatives and the ocean. We went with my daughters family and as you can see visited my brother...ran down to Santa Monica and Venice...my old stomping grounds...and toured Beverly Hills where I grew up..we had a dang good time!

Hi, Rick...yes I can see he is your kind of guy...mine too...I spent many many years on a bike...hard tails mostly. Then I traded my iron horse for the the hay eating variety...now I just paint!! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Bruce..yes I am back and with a vengeance...no not really...but I am all inspired!! I have done 4 pieces since i have been back and still haven't touched the photos I took....lots of waiters, kitchen Bar and cafe stuff. The Grand Californian which is where we stayed is full of inspiration as well as the many other scenes we saw!!
