Update.....

Washday In Venice 11x14 oil sold

Just so you know...I have quit holding my breath since the inauguration! I am comfortable and happy with everything. I have been so terribly busy I have not had a chance to post...doctor visit, chiropractor, shopping, house work..arrgh...and getting things ready for Jeff's Workshop. Looking forward to being a student (and seeing some old friends and ex-students there)...come in knowing nothing and hopefully come out with some knowledge. I have had to gather up boxes and lights and tables and shop for some supplies....Jeff asked if I would help and I do get a bit of a discount for it.... I will be down there today to help setup. We are all really looking forward to this masters advice and knowledge...Please visit Jeff's work if you haven't done so yet.
As long as we are talking art I will quickly mention another artist and acquaintance from here in Carthage and a master in his own right...Andy Thomas....Andy has just released a fantastic painting of Obama standing at a podium speaking to an enthusiastic crowd (prints are available at the same gallery I am with...Cherry's).... many of the faces in the crowd are civil rights or American leaders who supported the cause of racial equality. I remember those days like they were yesterday!!
I also stopped by Cherry's Gallery...just to chit-chat and distract them from their work..LOL! Not really ...needed to talk framing about my upcoming show!!! She is in the process of finalizing there new website which is being built by Max's nephew, Bart Paden...and she is so anxious to have it up and working she could spit....frankly so am I!!!
Ok, that's the quickie.....after the workshop I will bring full details about all that's been going on!
All About Change,
Theresa
Change by Andy Thomas available at Cherry's

Washday... is fantastic! I love the warm colors and the light hitting the wall and the wash. It's amazing that you can still see scenes just like this in Italy.
Inauguration: What a thrill to watch such a wonderful moment! I am so proud of our President! I spent many hours glued on to the TV watching the broadcast of the inauguration festivities... I have a feeling he is even more popular here in Europe, LOL.

Hi Theresa,

I love your painting, and the painting of Obama. I have been dreaming about doing a large painting of Obama, quite different from the one your friend has done, don't worry.

I love your post, and hope that all your doctor visits have been good,
and that your participation in the workshop is inspiring. (I know you'll be inspiring, that should be
your middle name!!!)

Great blog

Hi Theresa. Thanks for visiting my blog. I checked out your work and love it. wow. In this latest piece, i admire your use of texture and especially like the contrast of the rough old building and the clothes drying in the sun. no wonder this piece has already sold! all the best, Holly

I looked closely at the brush work and textures in "Washday" . Totally beautiful. Looking that close I can see a lot of little things and small bits of color I couldn't see in the regular view. I'm way impressed!

Beautiful painting - looks like you could have done some community service by painting the building instead of your canvas.

Love all the saturated color and sun-drenched walls in this painting. I love paintings of laundry, it's like a portrait without the person.

Wow, Theresa, I have been visiting blogs and stumbled across yours from Edward Burton's. The washday is so nice with the colors and contrasts, but Obama's is truly exquisite...I am impressed.

Thank you James...it is much appreciated. Glad to have you visit!

Theresa- that Italian sunlight on those ancient buildings, I can feel it all and smell the garlic wafting from those open windows.
There seems to be nothing you can't portray ( sorry for double negative but it's true )with your deft brushwork and intuitive eye for composition. You are, as is your blog, generous, varied, personal and such a great source of inspiration.

Doesn't the full title of President Obama still produce goosebumps! And this painting is phenomenal.

I so love visiting here.
