Trying To Keep Up.........

L'Aglio 8x16 oil

It always amazes me what painting everyday can do! I see things better and can make better decisions about editing, more confident brushwork, seeing better color...everything just gets a little easier and that makes it so much more fun! This doesn't mean that I don't have a ton to learn but I can see the difference. So here is L'Aglio ( The Garlic) painted from life of course. Finished it up a couple of days ago...along with the last of the frames. I have about 30 or so more names to put in the database for labels on invitations. I do almost (Max drives me a lot of places and helps me make some decisions) all my own work (secretarial, phone, running around and which also includes running a house and keeping it clean and try to produce quality work.) I think after the show I make take a bit of a vacation (except for painting)!!
The weight program (HCG) is outstanding...so far I have lost 14 pounds. Seems so easy...and believe me it has never been that easy! Don't have far to go now....than just maintain it! Keep up an exercise program...weights seem to work best for me.
Anything else going on?....Facebook....I was invited by some people here in town at the workshop we attended. Problem? Very little time to say much more than what I may be doing at the moment.
I apologize if I have forgotten some of the tags I have received...I have been really busy. I manage to make a comment or two and that's about it!
Valentines Day was perfect....flowers, cards, candy (which I am not touching until after this weight program) and some very well chosen words.....yep, the whole shebang!!!
There is probably more but for the moment this will do!
Bright days ahead for all,
Theresa

Hi Theresa, I know what you mean about painting every day. Recently I had to lay off for a while and I can tell the difference. It's sort of like maintaining an edge of some kind and the edge can become dull if I don't hang in there.
Great piece of work there with the garlic. It's evident you've honed that edge very finely.

Theresa, I love this new painting you did and want to thank you for the fabulous posts that you have been making. (I've been away and am just catching up now). I really enjoyed the Joplin sequence and definitely learned from it. I just attended a workshop led by Liz Wiltzen and this just iced it for me. Your work is always an inspiration, but you always make me think after reading your blog. Again... thank you!

Beautiful garlic! I really like the thicker white paint on the top of the bulb and then the reflected warm earth tones on the bottom of the clove. Just lovely!

Another romantic still life. I know, it's only garlic, but you manage to make simple things so romantic :)

Very cool to see how this painting ended up after the sneak peak from the studio set-up post. In fact, it's beautiful.

And congrats on your ever improving health!

Beautiful! I love the long composition and I agree with Kim.
The way you painted the skin and the top of the bulb is perfection.

Hi Theresa,

What a beautiful painting. It does seem to work better when we can paint every day.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day. I'm glad yours was everything it's meant to be, and hey! Happy Birthday today.

Theresa- how you see and interpret the ethereal beauty in taken for granted objects is so much a part of your amazing talent.

We, your loyal readers cut you as much slack as you need to continue your creative streak and take whatever crumbs or papery garlic wrappers you care to throw our way.

I always enjoy the personal asides you include in your writings.

And 12 pounds! Congratulations on that too. Only for how it makes you feel, not how it makes you look, which is already beautiful anyway.

A lovely painting! What did the garlic end up in, and did it taste as good as the painting looks?

Ah...thank you, Holly....the shapes were the foundation to the whole painting...If there was not a variety of shapes, sizes and distance between the shapes...no amount of paint or technique would have fixed it! Thank you for seeing!
